I just updated the BIOS of my PC, and the USB flash drive now works at reasonable speeds! Write of Ubuntu ISO of 700MB @~10MB/s, Read 623MB avi @~13MB/s.

Updated BIOS from GA-MA790X-DS4 (rev. 1.x) version F3 to GA-MA790X-DS4 (rev. 1.x) version F7C. Checked that all settings in BIOS where the same before restarting OS.
