GNOME brightness control worked in 2.6.28-4.10 but is no longer functional in 2.6.28-5.15.

Just two brightness settings are left and both are quite unusable.

This seems to be the corresponding changelog entry:

linux (2.6.28-5.13) jaunty; urgency=low
