Just adding that using the patch in comment #45 works for me. Are there any downsides is using that patch? Although this question does not belong here, what are the effects of disabling HPET?

FWIW for me too nvram-wakeup also works but I need a reboot after setting wakeup with nvram, which is a hassle.
