Got the same problem on Karmic 9.10

Here's what I did:

1° http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Download
2° download && extract && cd -> compat-wireless-2.6.tar.bz2
3° ./scripts/driver-select -> select the IWL2945
4° sudo make unload -> unload existing driver
5° sudo make
6° sudo make install
7° reboot
8° tell me if it's better or not :)

I uploaded 10GB of data from my laptop to my local server, for testing purpose, it seems to be rocking stable now ! (1000KB/s/2000KB/s)
