I can confirm this bug on a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo PA1510 laptop.
Whenever pressing Fn+F5 or Fn+F6 for changing volume, the system freezes as described by almatt.
I checked the keybindings and they are ok (XF86AudioRaiseVolume and XF86AudioLowerVolume). Also checked /apps/gnome_settings_daemon/volume_step in gconf-editor. Set to 6.
However, when I change the hotkeys (eg to Ctrl+Alt+PageUp for raising the volume), it works perfectly well.
