If there doesn't already exist an upstream bug report, it might not hurt to open one at bugzilla.kernel.org if you still experience this issue with the most recent mainline kernel. There are mainline kernel builds that you should be able to test with at the following:

Also the most recent 9.10 Karmic Alpha release is available for testing at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/ . Thanks.
