By forcing the latest update of 2.6.27.10 for linux-restricted-modules and linux-image, my iwl3945 started working again. I was originally having the same issues that it wouldn't even start

iwl3945 0000:0c:00.0: PCI INT A disabled

but now by forcing the update, it works well.
