Same here with a Sony Vaio,
The audio card is:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02)

Also video playing starts stalling.

Intrepid, updated from Hardy. Alt-F6 + Alt-F7 works as a workaround.
