I tested again and the remote control now is working fine, even with "hpet=disable". Maybe it stopped because of something else.
I confirm the same behavior described above by Minster about suspend/resume.
=> AMD Turion 64x2; nvidia graphics; Broadcom wireless; Ubuntu 8.10 (i386)
