I get this on an AMD64 x2 5000+ Intrepid rig running 4GB ddr2 ram
(not on machine so no Uname but latest Intrepid 2.6.27-10-generic)
[ 0.004000] Aperture pointing to e820 RAM. Ignoring.
[ 0.004000] Your BIOS doesn't leave a aperture memory hole
[ 0.004000] Please enable the IOMMU option in the BIOS setup
[ 0.004000] This costs you 64 MB of RAM
I get this on an AMD64 x2 4200+ Intrepid rig running 1GB ddr2 ram
uname -a 2.6.27-10-generic #1 SMP Fri Nov 21 19:19:18 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux
[ 0.004000] Aperture beyond 4GB. ignoring.
Does different memory size give a different error message, rather than motherboard differences as suggested above?
