oops--I just realized that Totem was MUTED when I did the test with my cm8738. I just hibernated and resumed and sound seems to be working.

I didn't use my onboard sound card (cm8738) in previous releases of Ubuntu (like dapper, breezy, etc., which is the time this bug is from). I do know that the soundblaster live emu10k1 didn't come up after resuming from a hibernate, and that /etc/init.d/alsa-utils force-reload was required

I can't test my soundblaster live with hibernate though because sound output is not working in Feisty Fawn at all.
