Looking back at the syslogs I have posted, I notice that the following message often occurs shortly before the Eeek! message:
NetworkManager: <WARN> nm_dbus_get_networks_cb(): error received: org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo.NoNetworks - There are no wireless networks stored..
Is this a clue?
When I first installed the OS there was a wireless card in a PCI slot on the machine. During my early attempts to figure out what was making this machine unstable I removed the wireless card. Perhaps there is something lingering as a result of this?
The label on the (now removed) wireless card says:
TP-LINK TL-WN651G
108M Wireless PCI Adapter
Super-G (TM) and eXtended Range (TM)
108Mbps
2.4GHz - 802.11g/b
FCC ID: TE7WN65XG
