still flashes.
echo none > /sys/class/leds/iwl-phy0\:assoc/trigger
fixes it.

I also have the mainline 2.6.30-020630rc2-generic kernel to hand, and that has the same bug, except the fix is
 echo none > /sys/class/leds/iwl-phy0\:\:assoc/trigger
