froze again - this time from within a virtual machine (virtualbox) running XP and updating a lot of documents with data. Powertop is not the solution. I think more like a general I/O issue too....only thing i can say for certain is that it happens when large amounts of data are transferred on the nic, and i think it only happens when i am on networks with high latency (but only a hunch to back this up unfortunately). What annoys me the most is that the logfiles gives you nothing at all :-(
