JFYI I updated Ubuntu 8.04.1 to Kernel 2.6.24-21-generic as suggested by Update manager and my WiFi stopped working.

I tried to re-build the mad wifi drivers I used before and they are not working any longer, nor are those build from latest mad wifi so I had to revert back to Kernel 2.6.24-19-generic to have the wifi to work again.
