I can confirm this works on my Acer 8920G in 8.04 32bit AND 64bit

Though the sound it a bit basic and quieter than it could be with full drivers. (OSS only enables the 2 smallest speakers on the front of the laptop)
Is anyone working on a proper fix to get all 5.1 speakers working in either ALSA or OSS? .....I hate having to load Vista anytime I want to watch a good movie :(
