I dont want to replace Nol here (since he actually knows how this is), but since he aint online (vacations) i'll provide a bit of feedback based on our last round of tests

Current version uses gspca which totally broke on kernel -31.
gspca upstream maintainer seems be a bit behind kernel head, leading _us_ with fail to build modules.
AFAIK current driver code is ready to be used upstream, and Nol is just finishing to clean the code a bit

Again take this with a very large piece of salt, and better wait for Nol to come back and update us.

_right now_ i dont have my webcam working on Karmic with any -31 kernels
