Hi,

I got the same problem in my friend's laptop upgrading from 7.10 to 8.04. Also, my friend lost it's NTFS partition (it became in FAT32). After two days probing utilities from UBCD I got to restore the NTFS partition and see the files inside but he can't boot on windows anymore.

Some info:

The most important now is to be able of booting into the winxp partition. I've tried to run grub-install /dev/sda and reboot. Everything is Ok but nothing happens when I choose the winxp label (just a 'Starting...')

Any ideas?
