Hi Leann,

I upgraded the machine to Intrepid fully, and running with the 2.6.27 kernel. The problem disappeared, but I don't know if it was the kernel which was the problem. It was more a combination of UMTS Option Card, Network Manager and Evolution. Of course, at the end there was a hard freeze, which shouldn't occur.
Problem seems to be solved, I'll test for a few more days.
