Bug Description
On earlier kernels I could set the max_cstat to get rid of the hissing/whining noise from the CPU when idle.
echo 2 > /sys/module/
This don't work any mor, and I have not found a solution to this annoying noise from thr CPU

Hi yop,
Just curious if you've tried either of the following:
Add "options processor max_cstate=2" in /etc/modprobe.conf
or
Try the boot option "processor. max_cstate= 2".
