Problem that no sound device is available on my Dell Precission 5520 was solved by a recent system update. No blacklisting of 'snd_soc_avs' was required.
Could be that the later kernel avoids the problem or that the update changes some kernel/system settings. The kernel after the upgrade is 6.8.0-35-generic.
