Bug Description

This update over the weekend caused by stsem to fail to boot
In recovery mode my networking, and video configuration was broken
Booting the alternate(backup) kernel image worked fine

I was able to recover by removing the new oracle kernel
sudo apt purge linux-image-5.19.0-1013-oracle

After rebooting I then ran
sudo apt autoremove
to remove the other compoments that where installed with the oracle kernel

To understand the minutia here could we get the /var/log/dpkg.log* /var/log/apt/term.log* and /var/log/apt/history.log* sections for the period when this update was applied. This should show us what happened any this was triggered. Also could you indicate the type of upgrade in play and how it was triggered; for example was this an apt-get dist-upgrade?

Also could you confirm that as things stand that an upgrade is not trying to resinstall linux-oracle for you?

The upgrade was via the GUI update interface. (sudo apt update/upgrade) not
actually the command line
The GUI update appears daily to show the pending updates
I have done and update since then and the Oracle kernel update is not in
the update list, I assume that it has been pulled, or it no longer shows up
because I have purged it. The update proceeded without any issues.
THere are more pending updates as of last night. I havent applied tham as
a have a big database import running, and I don't want to update until it's
finished (couple of days)
I will get the log information this afternoon. Have to wait till I can get
to the server, ssh is blocked

Cheers
