Bug Description

After kernel upgrade from 5.11.0.40 to versions 5.11.0.41, 5.11.0.43, 5.11.0.44 power-button light fails to switch off, after shutdown.

shutdown can be triggered from command line or via desktop menu, result is the same. After rebooting from 5.11.0.40 normal functionality is restored.

systemd appears to complete shutdown looking at the logs (see attached)

Switching to suspend mode (sleep) functions as expected (power light blinks) and stays permanently on after wake-up.

Version 5.13.0.28 Fails to boot, screen flashes black/white, it will boot into safe mode, but no further. so can not test.

After upgrade to Kernel 5.13.0-28-generic boot fails, screen flashes.
booting into safe mode works, but when I continue with boot, then it fails again.(flashing screen)

Graphic Driver?

I am appreciative of the other reports that noting the same original problem.

I guess I'll have to start a new bug report regarding the graphics driver.

This is the first time that there has been a regression that affected me, and now there are two, I also noted complete silence from ubuntu about this.

I am appreciative of the other reports, noting the same original problem, it's comforting to know I was not alone and also the more who report, the more likely it will be addressed.

On my system (AMD APU A8-7680, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS):

1) Shutdown and restart seems to be fixed on kernels 5.13.0-30 to 5.13.0-39

2) Suspend is working correctly only on 5.13.0-30 and 5.13.0-35. It got broken again since 5.13.0-37, i.e. system freeze with black screen during suspend, hard reset needed.

Can confirm same issue with following setup AMD® A12-9720p Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.
Suspend is broken in 5.13.0-39-generic and 5.13.0-37-generic, it only works in 5.13.0-35-generic.
