I am relatively new to kernel dev (this is my first real debugging session).
Will check the patches more in the future.

I am now moving to git, managing the patches manually was really painful.
The patch quality should be better.

Did You really compile with the patch labelled "Try this"? I have just noticed that it contained mistakes that prevented it from building. Or did You fix them manually?
