Comment 207 for bug 1949394

Apologies in advance if not the correct forum but it looks like a similar issue I have with my asus t300chi running ubuntu 16.04.3 pts. I believe but don't really know it uses an elantech touchpad. I have no vertical or horizontal scrolling and function keys do not work except for volume keys. Also a separate issue is that you select the ubuntu rescue options the screen freezes up ands requires a reboot. Would the described patch help me with the touchpad issue?
