Please find the patch against 3.19-rc6 attached as the next entry. Hope it makes the touchpad detection automatic for you.

Considering Greg KH has accepted the original bug fix for stable, when upcoming 3.18.4, 3.14.30 & 3.10.66 are released in the next day or two, this addendum patch to fix your case ought to apply on top them as well.

Anyway, if it's confirmed to work (against any of them), which am sure it will, then we'll request Dmitry to merge it upstream, although to reduce noise, we may rather wait for another one or two new DMI entries as well to batch them all up together, as I can see new users subscribing to this bug report all the time :-).
