Input maintainer Dmitry had this fix merged in mainline (https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=66893885bbf95b6c9030d97804cb678a70804edf) & he has marked it for stable trees' consideration too.

The mainline kernel has been confirmed to fix the original issue reported in this bugzilla report. So, marking the ticket as resolved now.
