Thanks for your persistence on this issue Srihari. I have tested your patch and it resolves the issue with my laptop.

In addition I have tested adding my dmi info to the i8042_dmi_elantech_kbdreset_table and it properly detects my laptop and applies the patch effects.

I have an Aorus branded Gigabyte X3 Plus laptop. The DMI info is below.

#dmidecode | egrep 'Manufacturer|Product Name' | head -n2
Manufacturer: GIGABYTE
Product Name: X3
