Dmitry and Benjamin helped me narrow down the issue and directed my searches appropriately.
It would all not be possible with such a dedicated bug reporter. I have been looking at another issue recently that seems much easier to debug and much more important (sorry, Srihari, just present on more popular laptops) and not given a response back even though it had two separate bugs on Launchapd and a bug here.
