i8042.nokbd (as per Documentation/kernel-parameters.txt i8042.* parameters don't accept =0 or =1 etc.) disabled the keyboard altogether. It didn't help the trackpad either.
Anyway, I've extracted dmesg out of syslog records, so there might be other nuisance entries there.
