@burritojohn, if you are seeing this on an Asus device then you are hit by a different variant of what is in essence the same bug.

The Asus case is fixed by this upstream commit:

Which has also been cherry-picked into the 5.8.y stable series (it is there since the v5.8.15 release).

So to fix this for you (and many many other Asus users!) the Ubuntu kernels should pickup the upstream fix for this.
