Bug Description

I have a lenovo thinkpad E550 that has had kubuntu installed starting with 18.04, now updated to 20.04, I never had problems with wifi until last kernel update.
If I boot with 5.4.0-33.37 the wireless connection acts normally, it's mostly stable and I have no major issues.
If I boot with 5.4.0-37.41 there is a message like this and the wireless interface is not activated:

[ 16.227170] kernel: iwlwifi 0000:04:00.0: enabling device (0000 -> 0002)
[ 16.227328] kernel: iwlwifi 0000:04:00.0: HW_REV=0xFFFFFFFF, PCI issues?
[ 16.275802] kernel: iwlwifi: probe of 0000:04:00.0 failed with error -5

There are similar issue with previous releases, but none seem to have fixed the problem, some of the more informatives (apparently it's either a kernel issue fixed with kernel 5.6 or a firmware loaded incorrectly):

@Joan, please attach dmesg captured for 5.4.0-37 kernel as we need the debug info for the kernel to be investigated. You may boot to 5.4.0-37, make sure wifi still not correctly probed, reboot back to 5.4.0-33 and use `journalctl -b -1 | tee journal.log` to dump system messages for previous boot. Attach that journal.log when you have network access.

I am working currently with kernel 5.4.0-40-generic since it released on ubuntu and I haven't experienced any more disconnects, I'm leaving the issue open for a few days just in case.
