In addition to that commit,
ALSA: hda/realtek - Set default power save node to 0
ALSA: hda/realtek - EAPD turn on later
ALSA: hda - Record the current power state before suspend/resume calls

Also affect PM operations on the codec.
I think a proper kernel bisection will make us more sure what introduced the regression.
