Also was not able to connect to any 2.4 or 5Ghz network with Intel AC3165 after a recent update. Ran sudo apt purge backport-iwlwifi-dkms restarted and now able to connect to both 2.4 and 5Ghz networks. Running 5.3.0-23-generic #25-Ubuntu SMP
