Rammy's solution doesn't work for me.

My hardy installation uses the iwl3945 driver and can connect to an unsecured AP but cannot connect to my WEP AP with a hex key. It tries and then asks me to enter the key again.

If I boot into gutsy using the ipw3945 driver, it connects quickly and without any problems.
