I think we can conclusively say that this is probably wrapped up now with respect to a kernel issue. I suggest if you think Opera is misbehaving by sucking all your power by over active wakeup calls then you put a bug report against it and possibly reference this bug for some history.

Thanks for all you input so that we could corner this one. If you are OK with this, I'd like to mark this bug as "won't fix" as there is no further kernel issue to resolve.
