Thanks Boris! The video was taken in 2012, but I experience these kind of problems since the upgrade from 16.04 to 18.04.
I had 10.04, 12.04 and 16.04 before without these issues.

I experience more problems with the kernel 4.15.0-30 and it looks much better with kernel 4.17.0-x. Some upgrades make it better, some upgrades make it worse.

I also run a Debian test system without these issues.
