@kaihengfeng - no problem, here's the results:

First kernel (with the commit) - Hibernation starts but then system seizes with power LED on requiring forced shutdown. Upon restart, hibernation resumes from where you left off as if nothing went wrong.

Second kernel (without the commit) - Hibernation starts and shutsdown by itself. Upon restart, hibernate resumes as expected.

In both cases, hibernation is resuming without issue but with the first kernel (with the commit) a forced shutdown is required. Machine will 'hang' indefinitely with the screen off and the power LED on.
