Shutdown failure in 17.10 with Nvidia Nouveau Driver

Bug Description
The following errors display at shutdown. The system never shuts down and I must hold down the power key to turn the system off. The hardware is a Dell 7559 laptop with Intel / Nvidia Prime Graphics GTX 960M. The display driver in use is the Nouveau driver.
