I have a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter, and then a Thunderbolt 2 to FireWire at the end of that. I can see the adapter, but I don't know if that means anything:

$ cat /sys/bus/thunderbolt/devices/0-1/device_name
Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter
---

firewire_ohci doesn't find it..

Anything I can do to help? Test? Play with patches?
