I've tested this problem on the v4.14 kernel.
To be specific: $ uname -a Linux tuturu 4.14.0-041400rc7-generic #201710292231 SMP Sun Oct 29 22:32:07 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
The problem is still there. I'm not sure if it could be pulseaudio, ALSA fault or something specific to Linux Mint 18.2.
