Can you boot back into the prior kernel and see if the bug goes away?

There are 2 kernels in the grub: 4.4.0-78, and 3.13.0-86. I have booted into both of these repeatedly. The latter kernel works without any issues. The former always has the issues as described above and in bug report # 1695400.
