I had the same problem on 17.04 with an ASUS USB-N13 wireless adapter. I hoped upgrading the OS to 18.04 would solve it. I did that a few days ago and the problem persists.

So I bought a network cable. But guess what: it also happens on the wired Ethernet connection.

The problem is that the interfaces seem to somehow lose their IPs. This only happens on my desktop, the laptop works fine. The desktop has dual boot with a Win 10 installation, it also works fine under Win 10 (both wired and wireless).
