I am also having a similar issue in Ubuntu 18.04.
This happens right after opening some tabs and streams. The network icon stays there, but internet drops. Restarting the wifi doesn't solve the problem most times.
The laptop is ASUS Vivobook S14.

I've also tried using a realtek wifi dongle, which solved the problem to a point. However when I use that, it fails to connect to the wifi and takes about 3-5 minutes of constant connection attempts. So I gave up on that too.
I don't have this problem with my other laptops.
