Bug Description

This occurred after rebooting after running Kubuntu's Update Manager 5.6.2 on 2016-10-12. Unfortunately, I hadn't rebooted after the last update that required me to do so, and thus I don't know if the problem was from that update or this one.

I'd like to perform a bisect to identify the commit that introduced this regression. Can you test the following kernels and see which ones exhibit the bug:

4.4.19: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.4.19/
4.4.20: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.4.20/
4.4.21: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.4.21

You don't have to test all of them, just up until the first one shows the bug.

Thanks in advance!

I thought the same, but I realised it is somehow "random". Only 1 of 8 attempt to boot is succesfull, no matter what kernel (despite what I thought).

It all happened after update of packages few days ago.
Before that all kernels worked without problem.

Just test it, you'll see I am right.
