I have the exact same problem on Ubuntu Hardy Heron with all the latest updates installed. Also i had to remove the wrongly installed "Bluetooth Utilities" for my computer to start properly, just as the original poster. The problem seems to be the same.

I have troubles with all of my USB Devices when plugged in AFTER boot. The USB Digital Camera even gets recognized at first "Camera found" but not registered as a device.

Any help would be much apprechiated!
