Thanks Florian and Joseph! With the two patches it's definitively a lot better! Boot times without NM and lightdm:

4.4: 1.5s
4.8.0-22 (zesty): 16.8s
4.8.0-26 (Joseph's kernel): 8.4s

So still quite far from what we used to have, but already twice as fast as the current y/z kernel.
