also have tried 4.15.0-43-generic (same error)
I do not have older kernel on my system now, how to recover it? Thank you

now I cannot boot into my kubuntu
only can get to emergency mode (recovery mode failed as well)

journalctl -xb in emergency mode and found below errors (same as others in this thread)
ACPI Error [\_SB_.PCIO. xxxxxxx ] Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND
