I just booted windows and re-applied the new BIOS (1.3.3) and the new Thunderbolt Firmware so I am all caught up on the BIOS and firmware settings on the board.
I also nuked all the HD and re-installed Ubuntu from scratch. I just retested it and the crash still happens when you close the lid or issue a suspend commend using the UI.
This is a critical regression that should be addressed and soon.
