Comment 98 for bug 1559308

I have this problem running 16.04.3 with the kernel package and drivers from https://github.com/M-Bab/linux-kernel-amdgpu-binaries. Those binaries are the only solution that I've found to fixing the problem of the display going to a blank screen and won't "wake up". But when I try to use the HDMI port the screen goes blank and won't wake up and nothing gets displayed on the TV - I'm still able to ssh in from another PC and reboot the PC that's "frozen" but I don't get a login screen if I leave the HDMI cable plugged in. I have tried the oibaf and padoka repositories, also, but that hasn't solved the problem either.
